St. Augustine said, "He who sings, prays twice." If his formula is true, Trinity is an
exceptionally prayerful place. The people of Trinity are truly a singing congregation, and
our worship is full of song: hymns, psalms, canticles, praise songs and robust service music
are all part of our worship tradition here. The music we offer in worship ranges from early
Christian chant to African praise music; from the music of Bach to contemporary composers
alive and making music today. Under the leadership of Cantor David Ruhf, there are several
choirs which give everyone who would like to sing an opportunity to lead worship in a musical
capacity. They include:
The Chancel Choir
The primary singing choir of the church, the Chancel Choir is an ensemble
of trebles who lead worship, on average, three Sundays a month, and on all major church
festivals and holidays. The Chancel Choir rehearses weekly and has a vast repertoire,
including the music of Bach, Brahms, Handel, Haydn, Mozart, Leighton, Howells, Elgar,
Gardiner, Rutter, Fauré and many others.
The Festival Choir
This group is made up of individuals who are able to commit to an intensive
rehearsal schedule prior to church festivals, including All Saints, Christmas, Holy Week,
Easter, and Pentecost. All four voice parts are represented by members of Festival Choir
which rehearses seasonally, and their repertoire includes the music of Rutter, Pergolesi,
Händel, Leighton, Brahms, Gardiner and others.

The Youth Choir
Our Youth Choir is made up of singers in grades 6-10, and rehearses weekly.
This group masters advanced repertoire for trebles, and frequently folds into the Festival and
Chancel Choirs for festival Sundays. They sing one to two Sundays a month.
The Junior Choir
The Junior Choir is made up of singers in grades 2-5 and rehearses weekly.
This preparatory ensemble works on introductory repertoire and also on the skills of music
reading and service leadership. They sing in worship one Sunday a month. Amy Ruhf is the
director of the Junior Choir
The Handbell Choir
This group rings three octaves of Malmark handbells in one to two services
per month, as well as on major Church festivals. The group rehearses weekly, and has mastered
some of the most advanced handbell music written for choirs of our size.

Sunday School Choir
All Sunday School Students in grades pre-K - 3 receive weekly musical
instruction from Amy Ruhf, and they sing at the 10:30 AM service one Sunday per month.
In addition to our singing and ringing choirs, there are opportunities for
talented individuals to sing solos in worship, as well as to play instrumental offerings. We
are blessed to have two talented guitarists and a conguero, who often help in accompanying
contemporary music for our blended worship services.
